More than 45 community groups, 90 languages of origin, 1,080 life jackets and nearly 20,000 people reached directly or otherwise – these are the numbers behind Surf Life Saving NSW’s Gone Fishing initiative, a report into the ground-breaking safety education program has revealed.

SLSNSW is calling for nominations from RWC operators wishing to attend the 2024 Oakberry Acai NSW Country Championships and/or the 2024 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships, proudly presented by Your Local Club. 

Nominations for Country Champs close Sunday 17 December and nominations for State Champs close Friday 5 January.

Applications are open for the NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program. The Program assists NSW Surf Life Saving clubs to develop facilities that will enable increased participation, increased use of facilities by other community groups and/or the public, improved safety, and improved financial and/or environmental sustainability.

Volunteer Patrol Support Program

SLSNSW are again asking for expressions of interest from members wishing to support smaller clubs as visiting patrolling members over the summer and Christmas holiday period. This is a great opportunity to utilise your lifesaving skills at another beach location, and at the same time visit some amazing coastal destinations. Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
