Junior School NoticesTERM 1 WEEK 5From the Head of Junior SchoolDear valued member of the PLC community, Junior School Swimming CarnivalWith the hot weather we are experiencing this week, it was perfect timing to see our girls take to the pool at Claremont Aquatic Centre and swim so enthusiastically for their House. Congratulations to Ferguson House for winning the War Cries and congratulations also to McNeil House for winning the Overall Champion House! Year 4 Champion Girl – Ruby Eden Year 5 Champion Girl – Avery Dowd Year 6 Champion Girl – Millie Meredith-Humphry From the commencement of Term 1, our girls have been participating in swimming lessons during their PE classes and rehearsing their War Cries on a Friday afternoon in House Groups. The culmination of their hard work in swimming certainly paid off when the girls competed today. At PLC, we celebrate wins, personal bests, participation, and sportswomanship. It was a wonderful atmosphere as all our girls tried their hardest and cheered on their teammates. On behalf of all the staff, students, and parents, I would like to acknowledge the hard work from Mrs Tash Tench and Mr Ben Matheson to put together this Inter-House Swimming Carnival for all our students. I would also like to say a special thank you to the parents who volunteered their time to help and to those who came along as spectators. The girls absolutely love having parents come to watch and it really adds to the community feel for this great day in the pool. Mrs Geraldine Drabble Junior School BulletinRev Nalin's ReflectionsRecently a gardening friend was excitedly regaling me about the late-night blooming of not one, but four exquisitely beautiful and powerfully scented “Queen of the Night” orchid cacti. It only flowers just once a year around midnight, usually when there is a full moon, then by morning it is gone, just a withered stem of its former glory...
