Please ensure that you regularly review the SLSNSW Coronavirus webpage and the NSW Health website to keep up-to-date with the latest restrictions and advice. 24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness, Supporting Gotcha4Life - Coogee SLSCCoogee SLSC was one of the many NSW surf clubs that participated in the 2021 24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness, supporting Gotcha4Life. Over 50 Coogee SLSC members participated and raised more than $14,000 that will go towards mental fitness programs that take action to engage, educate and empower local communities to end suicide. Forster SLSC Rebuild Closer to RealityActing PM Barnaby Joyce visited the team at Forster SLSC this week to inspect the plans and site of the new surf club. The Federal Government has allocated $3.1M dollars to the project, along with the $3M already committed by the NSW Government to build the state of the art facility. Mr Joyce was joined by local MP Dr David Gillespie, Forster SLSC President John Quinn, LNC Branch President Brian Wilcox and Assistant Director of Lifesaving Julie Wilcox, Forster SLSC Building committee chairman Ron Hartley and Forster Nippers Coordinator Troy Brookes. The Acting PM said it was great to be able to support worthwhile community projects like this in regional areas and the new club will rejuvenate the Forster Main Beach precinct. There are incredible prizes for the top fundraisers, including an AED (valued at $2695), CPR Training Course for 12 people (valued at $1200) provided by SLSNSW, and discount accommodation vouchers at luxury hotels. There will be a presentation of the 115th SLSNSW Annual Report and announcement of the newly elected Life Members. NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility ProgramThe Office of Sport is yet to release the timing of the funding program, however we anticipate the closing date to be well before the Christmas period.
