Click here Gippsland, your Transition Plan is now live The Latrobe Valley Authority (LVA) has been working with the community, business, educators and government on a transition plan that will benefit all of the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland. This plan will help us navigate the future of the region together 🤝 For the last 12 months, we've been gathering feedback and advice from people right across Gippsland. We want to thank the thousands who have shared their hopes, dreams and aspirations for our region’s future. Those thoughts, priorities and strengths are what this long-term vision for economic growth, job creation and the development of sustainable industries are built on. And now it's complete! And so is the Implementation Plan, which is a five year roadmap setting out current and planned commitments by the Victorian Government and other stakeholders. Find out more about the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland Transition Plan and Implementation Plan right here 👇 It's almost time for Gippsland Business to step onto the red carpet 🏆 The LVA is delighted to support the Federation University Gippsland Business Awards. These awards celebrate entrepreneurial spirit and encourage collaboration in the region. This year, we are sponsoring the Innovation Award, which recognises businesses that successfully implement innovative technology, products, or services to overcome challenges. Innovation is at the core of LVA's way of working so it seems the perfect fit for us to sponsor this award. Federation University Open Day On August 13, LVA’s own Laurie Paton, Jeanie Hall, and Chris Buckingham attended the Federation University Open Day at the Churchill Campus. As well as representing LVA and answering questions about our work and the Transition Plan, the team wanted to understand students' motivations for studying in Gippsland, identify any barriers or support needs, and explore industry and employment connections. A busy and fulfilling day! We answered lots of questions and learnt more about what young people love about Gippsland and why they want to study here. Navigating change globally On Wednesday, 9 August, the LVA was thrilled to welcome a Vietnamese parliamentarian delegation participating in an Australian National University-led masterclass on climate and energy. The delegation was interested in Australia’s experience in addressing climate change, focusing on how Gippsland is managing its transition.
