Happy UHC Day!

Today, we join the global health community in celebrating Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day – a reminder of our shared commitment to ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access quality health services without suffering financial hardship.

This year’s theme—Health: It’s on the government!—reminds governments that it is their responsibility to ensure that healthcare is always affordable or free, particularly for the poorest and most vulnerable among us.

Strong health systems don’t just save lives—they drive economic growth, promote social equity, and build resilience. But progress has stalled, and too many people either miss out on services or are pushed into poverty due to high health costs.

That’s why we’re calling on governments to act now: to commit resources, adopt laws, and allocate budgets to protect everyone from financial hardship.

Join us in amplifying this critical #UHCDay message. Write to your decision makers, share your stories, and spread the word to inspire progress and hold leaders accountable.

Together, we can build the healthier, fairer world we all deserve.
