CODA Connect • April 2022 The close of 2021 saw the establishment of CODA as an independent not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, with a Governance Board in place. It has been a busy and positive first quarter for the CODA team, and we are excited to share the below updates and opportunities with you. CODA's service sector update — Registrations open We will be hosting an online update session for companies in the service sector to provide information on our current and planned work program and how it is supporting the growth of Australia’s decommissioning industry. As part of the update, we would like to hear from you about what you consider the critical activities CODA should undertake. The update will be held as a 90-minute webinar including time for questions.

National Decommissioning Research Initiative update The second NDRI project paper has been published in the Global Change Biology journal. This paper summarises the current state of knowledge of oil and gas infrastructure in maintaining, altering, or enhancing ecological connectivity with natural marine habitats. It also discusses the potential impacts of different decommissioning approaches on seascape connectivity. The research is informing government, industry and regulator discussions about best practice for the decommissioning of Australia's aging oil and gas infrastructure. You can read the paper (free) here. |
