Weekly update 8 April 2026

Kia ora koutou,

Welcome to our weekly update report. We want to keep you informed of our work and answer your questions. We'll include lodgement queue processing times and volumes.

MPI Risk goods not captured by tariffs

If you have a consignment of items with potential biosecurity risk that are not stopped for MPI assessment due to a tariff not being targeted, please bring these to our attention using a Manual Biosecurity Referral (MBR) in your TSW entry.

This will help us to capture items such as heat packs containing wheat, where there is no distinct tariff code and targeting a multitude of tariff codes would result in a large number of by-catch items being stopped for MPI.
