Strathfield Council has a New Direction with my priority being reconnecting with our community. You will now receive regular updates from the Mayor's Office and from July 2022 Council will start a Community Newsletter which will be delivered into every home and business in the Strathfield Local Government Area. I have been working closely with the Deputy Mayor Karen Pensabene and Councillors to deliver some significant changes to Strathfield Council. We are in the process of recruiting a new General Manager and working on delivering a new staff organisational structure that will deliver a more efficient council for our residents. This week our Community Grants program opened, applications can be submitted until 31 July. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for eligible community organisations, more details can be found below. After the large amount of rain we have experienced our staff are continuing to repair potholes across our local road network. If you spot a pothole please reach out to Council so we can promptly repair it. The new round-about at Bridge Road and Loftus Crescent, Homebush is almost complete, this will improve safety for the residents living in this precinct and I look forward to the pedestrian improvements in the immediate vicinity that will be completed soon. If you have any local matters that you would like to discuss, please reach out to me on 0428 952 095 or cr.mblackmore@strathfield.nsw.gov.au Have a great weekend. Community Grants are Open If you are a local organisation running community events, programs or initiatives, now is your time to get your application together for Council's Community Grants.
