Click here 14 December 2023Cr Karen Pensabene, Mayor of Strathfield Dear Residents I am thrilled to share highlights from the past week filled with engaging school presentations and award ceremonies, and exciting news from the State Government. The dedication of our principles, teachers, parents, carers and students has truly set a high standard. The academic achievements and extracurricular activities in music, debating, art, sport and the strong community spirit, showcased the remarkable talent within our 8 Primary Schools and 7 High Schools. Witnessing students actively contribute to our community through volunteering and participation in local functions brings me immense joy. Our schools play a vital role in shaping Strathfield, and I take pride in representing this outstanding community. The NSW State Government has granted Strathfield much needed resources for the preparation of a Masterplan for the Homebush Urban Village (also known as the Parramatta Road Corridor Urban Transformation Strategy – PRCUTS). Working collaboratively with our Council planners and relying on community engagement, we aim to create optimal living spaces for the future. Recognising the need to enhance housing targets, our focus extends to planning green spaces, improving traffic management, and bolstering connectivity to local transport. This is a first for Strathfield and we are proud of our Council management who have worked tirelessly to achieve this great outcome. This is how you do planning well, and we are excited about this initiative and committed to keeping our residents involved and informed at every stage of the process. Thank you for your ongoing support and contact me if you require any further information. If you have any further questions or need to contact me, please feel free to email me at cr.kpensabene@stratfhield.nsw.gov.au or reach out to our customer service at 9748 9999.
