We are very proud of our students, and teams who have been able to continue to grow and improve their projects despite all the difficulties they faced due to the restrictions that have been in place over the past two years. On a national level, we have commenced our Regional Showcases kicking off in Queensland, followed by the Victorian/ Tasmanian showcase, and then WA. NSW will be held on May 17. It has been inspiring to be able to attend the events in person, connect with our students, faculty and partners, welcome in some new teams and welcome back returning teams. It has also been a treat to see the students receive constructive feedback, from our panels, that will help them prepare for the National Competition in July. I was impressed by the students and their level of enthusiasm and leadership in managing their existing projects, and initiating new ones. I am eager to see the final presentations at our National Competition 6th - 7th of July, which will be held in Sydney.
News from the CEOSelena Griffith, CEO and Country Leader. Vibhor Pandy - QUT Design Thinking Workshop at our QLD Regional Showcase Charlie Cowell from Charted Accountants Australia and New Zealand. VIC Regional Showcase at Charted Accountants Australia and New Zealand. WA Regional Showcase at ECU City Hub Events and Happenings The major events and happenings since our last Newsletter have been the face-to-face Regional Showcases and the Collective Impact Jam. The Enactus Australia Queensland Regional Showcase was held at QUT's Garden Point Campus, our Victorian/Tasmanian Regional Showcase at Charted Accountants Australia and New Zealand Office in Melbourne, and the Western Australia Regional Showcase at ECU City Campus. Our NSW Showcase will be on Tuesday the 17th of May. You can register via our website or at the following link to attend. https://events.humanitix.com/enactus-nsw-regional-showcase A big thank you to all the universities and partners who hosted our showcase this year. Great spaces make for great workshops and interaction. The NSW Regional Showcase will be held at Macquarie University City Campus in May. We would like to thank all the Faculty Advisors, Students and Business Advisors who participated in these events. We would especially like to thank staff from Randstad and EY and other industry members who attended all our regional days and gave valuable feedback to teams on their projects. We would also like to say a big thank you to our partner Charted Accountants Australia and New Zealand who hosted us in their Melbourne Office, and their members Charlie Cowell (QLD), Whitney Wilson from Striver (VIC), and Precious Mukosera (WA) who ran a personal branding workshop at each of our Regional Showcase events. We could not do what we do without the generosity of our partners. Thank you also to Vibhor Pandy from The Foundry at QUT for running our Design Thinking Workshops in Queensland and Hannah Wilkinson and Kat Clements from Curtin University for doing the same in WA. I had the pleasure of running them in Victoria and loved the creativity and passion displayed by the students. Our Regional Showcases are a wonderful opportunity for students and partners to connect at a “grass roots” level and greatly assist our students in preparing for our National Showcase in July. Beyond our Regional Showcases, we have also held the first round of our Impact Jams with teams participating from NSW, Qld and NT. Covid restrictions meant that we will run the Impact Jams in other states and regions later this year. The Impact Jams proved to be a great way for teams to reconnect, explore and develop new projects in line with some of the Global Enactus Races worth Running. They have also provided the opportunity for new and returning teams create Enactus communities and early-stage projects. I look forward to seeing these in the new teams competition at Nationals. National Showcase Enactus Australia National Competition will be held at Sydney University’s Abercrombie Building from the 6-7th of July 2022 We are so happy to be returning to running a live event this year and have been working closely with Enactus International to ensure the activity will be consistent across all countries in terms of competition requirements. The upside of holding our event face to face this year is an opportunity to have teams together and interacting again, workshops from our partners, a careers fair, and a market place where teams can showcase their products and services. It also gives us an opportunity to reconnect with Industry and Alumni in the judging. If you would like to participate in our National Competition as judges, please contact Kylie to express your interest. If you, or your organisation would like to be part of our careers fair or sponsor one of our competition rounds we would also like to hear from you. Kylie's email- ksmith@enactus.org Country Leaders Summit Internationally I have recently attended our first face to face Global Summit in 3 years, held in Baku, Azerbeijan. The opportunity for Enactus Country Leaders and Enactus Global staff to come together to set strategy and create a post-covid vision highlighted how much we all need connection and the collective impact we can have when we work together. Student ActivitiesEY Mentoring Program This year Enactus have continued the Global partnership with EY for a student mentoring program. It has been a great success, benefiting all our participating students both personally, and professionally. EOI has just closed for the next round of mentoring and 87 of our students will be engaging. We wish them all well. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we are happy to report that the program has been opened up to all Enactus students globally. We are looking forward to having many more of our students involved, we currently have 85 more registered for the next round of mentoring and are very grateful to EY for this opportunity. Internships Our Summer Internship program provided 9 participants a chance to work on a variety of ENACTUS projects and develop their collaboration and disciplinary skill sets. Most notably the interns helped to build a new online community platform for Enactus Australia. You are welcome to join for access to our Social Innovation and Social Impact resources https://app.neutopia.co/community/join?token=41d3f588fddb204b1862aea450cc5cee We will be offering 6 new winter internships of the mid-year break and are interested in hearing from students who would like to work in
