Are you missing out? If you’re one of the few officials who isn’t using the DDD Dashboard to make your work more impactful, then it’s time to change! The dashboard is a treasure chest of critical insights that help you identify problems, craft great interventions, and support your learners.

The good news is that you probably already have access to this tool. The better news is that activating your account is as easy as checking your inbox for your DDD password details, and then joining one of our login and navigation webinars (or click here to watch the webinar recording).

We are currently reaching out to officials who have previously been given DDD usernames and passwords, but who haven’t yet accessed the platform. If you think you’re one of them, then keep an eye out for an SMS or email from DDD to help you get started.

Still wondering what the benefits are? Watch this short video on the top three insights that the dashboard offers. And then scroll down for more …

Almost 10 000 education officials can’t be wrong! That’s how many have accessed the DDD Dashboard since the start of this year, proving that it contains insights for everyone – regardless of role or province. Here’s who those active users are, where they are, and what they do:

9 696 OFFICIALS   MOST ACTIVE AREA   WHO THEY ARE   WHAT THEY DO
… have logged in to the DDD Dashboard since January, the majority of which (more than 2 500) are from Gauteng.   The province with the highest percentage of active users (out of their total registered user base) is Northern Cape, at 32,3%.   Most of the active users are from schools (6 743), followed by curriculum (1 557) and management and governance (647).   They analyse weekly attendance and task coverage, profile learners and track subject performance.

  DASHBOARD UPDATES

Thank you to the many officials who keep sharing their feedback – especially those who participated in last week’s workshop to review the latest updates to the dashboard’s Overview page. Your detailed inputs are our “north star” when it comes to making changes that will help you get more value from DDD, and we appreciate the time you take to share these. Here are the latest updates from the team:

VALISTRACTOR PROGRESS Schools doing a sterling job   BETTER OVERVIEW PAGE Simpler look, more speed   HOW WE HANDLE ISSUES
Your challenge is our priority
Around 18 500 schools (that’s more than 70% of those that submit data to DDD) are now successfully using the new Valistractor. Thank you for your support and commitment! If you need Valistractor assistance, follow these tips to ensure you give the Helpdesk team all the info they need to resolve your query quickly.   Next week we go live with the enhanced Overview page. Previously this page contained a large number of statistics and background calculations, which made it slow to load when the dashboard was busy. It will soon be simpler and faster, with all the same info still available elsewhere on DDD. Click here to see what to expect.   A rigorous process is in place to address issues that officials may experience on Valistractor or DDD. It includes investigating who is affected and possible root causes. This can take time, especially when dealing with new technology, but rest assured that our team is determined to resolve queries as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!

Mr Ndevu adds that seeing circuit performance in one click helps him plan his school support visits, targeting those that are “flashing red” and which need support the most.   Being able to check all components of the school is key, says Mr Matlela, from teacher and learner attendance to subject and overall performance.   Mr Nkale points out that he also uses the dashboard to track which schools have submitted data to DDD, and follow up with those that haven’t.

  A LEARNING HAT TRICK
Port St Johns nails it!
Next week’s DDD webinars focus on how to track subject performance and assessments captured on the dashboard, to better support learners in Term 2. Click below for more details and to book your free seat. Alternatively, book via the Events section on the DDD Learning Hub.   Three or more consecutive days of absenteeism is the first sign of a learner who might struggle later. The quickest way to prevent this is to pinpoint attendance issues quickly, by submitting and tracking data on DDD every single week. Don’t let “absent” turn into “at risk” – submit today!   Maths Literacy Subject Advisor, Mrs Mtembu (above) was one of the officials who took part in recent training hosted by Port St Johns’ Curriculum Management Committee. The team also ran a simultaneous performance improvement session with educators, as well as Valistractor upskilling.
