Dear Now that fall is fully upon us, adjusting becomes the way of wisdom, both for external weather requirements, and inward management of emotional cycles, as the equinox provides a support system of equilibrium, to help guide the ongoing forward movement through time. Practices for cleansing, pausing, observing and restraining are supported at the equinoxes, and help maintain a balance of what Dr. Lad calls ‘double-arrowed attention’, or a state of equal observation of outer and inner dynamics. As the winter solstice approaches, we can prepare to implement important decisions, plans and commitments between December 22, 2024 and the coming June 22, 2025. Of this period, the best time for making life-changing decisions is between December 22, 2024 and the spring equinox, March 20, 2025 depending on your personal stars and transits. As soon as the sun begins to wax again in the northern hemisphere, we can make bigger life decisions such as moving, marriage, and a career change, to benefit from the sun’s illumination towards wisdom, strength and endurance for success.
Sleeplessness: Here’s a reprise of a wonderful conversation about how to develop regular, sound sleep, especially now as colder conditions are increasing. It was recorded some years ago by Dr. Hanna Chusid. This content is timeless, and regular sleep remains one of the three pillars of daily health in Ayurveda along with digestion and elimination. Sound sleep is such an important, critical foundation of mental health, without which the nervous and endocrine systems become depleted. What’s the purpose of dulling these systems as compared to removing the cause of chronic sleep disturbance and restoring the principle of early to bed and to rise? Please watch and forward the video below to others whom you know will benefit. This interview also appears on my recently revised website, along with other useful Interviews and Bits & Tips. Before presenting exciting learning opportunities for 2025, here’s a recent conversation with Orsi Liptak from the Ayurveda Association of Canada Did you catch this interview? I feel it was a great conversation! Please share this video with others, perhaps with those new to Ayurveda in your network. Pulse Assessment Seminar-Nadi Pariksha June 19-22 2025 This summer solstice Guru-Kula style seminar is now an annual event at my home in Surrey, BC. After teaching this method internationally in India, the US, and soon in Mexico, with Dr. Lad’s precious blessings, I’m now continuing the four-day retreat program. I remember Dr. Lad’s prophetic words from early in my training: “When you master the pulse reading, the Indian doctors will seek you out to learn.” Still today, graduating Ayurveda physicians in India do not learn this critical skill due to the large class sizes and a lack of skilled practitioners/teachers. I was able to learn this technique only because of having an apprenticeship training, the only Ayurveda path available to me at the time, starting some thirty years back. Nadi Pariksha is the primary skill of the Ashta Vidha Pariksha (Eight-Fold Assessment science), learned over many years and requiring consistent practice. It is best learned in person with individual attention. Returning graduates are welcome for the weekend only portion, with a 10% discount if prepaid by noon on April 21, 2025, space permitting. Program Features: *Daily sattvic vegetarian lunches prepared and shared together *Focus on practical learning in a small group setting *Classroom Teaching Example on Friday – Case Study *Covers all seven layers of the Nadi according to Dr. Lad *Weekend emphasis on Manas Prakruti/Vikruti *Graduates eligible for 24 hrs. of NAMA P.A.C.E. credits, on successful completion (12 hrs. for weekend only participants) Pre-requisite: Minimum 600 hrs. of NAMA approved education or equivalent Schedule: 10am - 1pm, 2:30- 5:30pm Graduation Ceremony and Closing Circle for family & friends: Sunday 5 - 6pm Required Text: Secrets of the Pulse by Dr. Vasant D. Lad Investment: $1467 CAD (if prepaid by noon April 21, 2025) $1637 CAD (thereafter, space permitting) $737 CAD weekend only Sat & Sun (if prepaid by noon April 21, 2025) $911 CAD weekend only Sat & Sun (thereafter, space permitting) $667 CAD returning participants To be on the wait list and for more information about this unique professional skill development program, please contact jaisri@ayurveda-seminars.com Recent comments: “I can't imagine a better teacher to continue Dr. Lad’s legacy and the subtle art of Nadi Pariksha.” - T.M., Ayurveda Practitioner “Completely hands-on, very comprehensive.
