During his time at College, Bill was an enthusiastic member of the Rawson Hockey and Athletics teams. In his fresher year, Bill was the Assistant
Secretary of the Sydney University Hockey Club and later went on to serve as the Vice President. He also served as Executive Officer of the University Veterinary Society and in 1990 acted as Co-convenor of the 31st Australasian Veterinary Students Association Conference in Sydney.
After graduating in Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney, Bill began his career in Strathalbyn, South Australia, before joining the Timboon Vet Group in Victoria in 1996. He was known for his exceptional knowledge, calm demeanor, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
In 2017, Bill joined Saputo, combining his veterinary expertise with his passion for agriculture to improve milk quality and production. He also held positions on biosecurity and animal health committees. Highly respected for his expertise in milk quality and harvesting, Bill's contributions continue to influence Australian veterinary practices.
An
avid sailor, Bill was Rear Commodore and Treasurer at the Port Fairy Yacht Club. He co-owned and captained the Dibley 990 Chikara, competing in successive Melbourne to Port Fairy ocean races.
Bill is survived by his parents, Frank and Margot, siblings Lucy and Michael (Fr 1992), and a community of colleagues, friends, and farmers who were touched by his unique personality and benefited from his expertise.
The Morgan family is held warmly in our thoughts and our deepest sympathy is extended to all who knew Bill.
The College wishes to thank William's brother, Michael Morgan (Fr 1992) for his invaluable assistance in compiling this obituary.
