Summer is officially here, and it's the perfect time to connect with nature for your next picnic, bush walk or hinterland adventure.

Issue #45: We’re bringing you tips on how to check for concealed water leaks around your home after significant rainfall, inviting you to get into the festive spirit at our Christmas in Broadbeach event and sharing details on our new City app.

Have your say on our beaches

How water efficient is your household?

Are you among the 31 per cent of people who don’t monitor for water leaks on your property? According to our Water Knowledge Survey earlier this year, just over a third of people don’t look for water leaks.

Leaking toilets, taps and underground pipes can waste a lot of water, and can be hard to notice when the ground is so wet from recent rainfall. You can help sustain water supply by ensuring your home is as water efficient as possible and:

  • Look for visible leaks, such as in the shower or dripping taps.
  • Read your water meter, a sudden increase may indicate a concealed leak.
  • Check your water bill.

If you suspect a concealed leak call a Queensland licensed plumber to help locate it and repair the leak quickly to avoid higher water bills or damage to your property.

Visit our website to find out the average daily water use of Gold Coast residents. Small changes by each household can have a big impact on our region's water supply. Whatever the weather, let's save water together. By changing our behaviours we can help reduce how much water we use.
