Trees beautify the landscape and contribute to a range of other environmental benefits for the community such as reduction of pollutants, reduction of temperature and production of oxygen for the atmosphere. Let’s roll up our sleeves and take on an active role in creating positive environmental change in our beautiful area. Next Saturday will be the first of four Mayoral Street Meeting sessions. You’ll be able to find me at the corner of Llandilo Ave & Kingsland Rd, Strathfield from 1pm – 3pm on Saturday 5 August. I am always eager to meet community members and residents to discuss local matters that are important to you. I hope to see you there! Lastly, we have two wonderful programs starting up this month. Conversation Club kicks off today at Strathfield Library and is a weekly group focused on improving English skills in a friendly setting. Stepping On will also start back up on Friday and is a falls prevention program at Strathfield Community Centre. Both programs are free and aim to help members of our community acquire skills and build new social connections. As always if you require any help or information, please contact the office or email me on cr.kpensabene@strathfield.nsw.gov.au Join us this weekend for National Tree Day! Register today to be a part of Australia's largest tree planting and nature care event. Strathfield's tree planting event is this Sunday 30 July, 9:30am at Ismay Reserve.
