We are excited to welcome the University of Pretoria as the newest node of the South African Quantum Technology Initiative (SA QuTI). The new UP node (UPQust), led by Prof. Tjaart Krüger, brings together interdisciplinary expertise across Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Computer Science. Its research will span all three SA QuTI flagships, addressing real-world challenges in agriculture, cybersecurity, and fraud detection. We look forward to the impactful research, collaboration, and innovation ahead as we continue building a vibrant quantum ecosystem in South Africa.
Postdoctoral fellowship available in experimental quantum nanophotonics at the University of Pretoria. The fellowship project will focus on using second-order photon correlations to identify and characterise environmental changes of simple and complex emitters in noisy environments. Call for applications close 10 April. MSc position in experimental optical quantum computing (1-2 Years) at Stellenbosch University. This opportunity focuses on photonics-based quantum computing within an international, industry-linked collaboration. Call for applications close 15 April. The 2026 L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Sub‑Saharan Africa Young Talents. Call for applications close on 15 May. |
