Ayurveda has commented on thousands of years of public and individual health conditions, including epidemics and pandemics. Charaka’s famous ‘Treatise on Longevity’, introduces that the reason to be interested in health is to fulfill the spiritual purpose of life, as Self-realization or God-realization. Ayurveda teaches how to avoid suffering in order to enhance the capacity for meditation, contemplation, service, and sustainability. Integration of Ayurveda and modern medical science is currently coming to a natural merging for the benefit of suffering humanity. Necessity is again the mother of invention and adaptation, bringing R E S P E C T to Ayurveda, increasingly. I notice western populations are now more ready and open to receiving Ayurveda’s wisdom, to understand that thriving is a matter of balance of the five primordial elements making up this cosmos and this body. Daily practices (causes inducing their effects) are critical to personal and collective outcomes. Mental health may begin with the mind but ends with one’s relationship with All that is. Let’s take full advantage at this time, towards the integration of east and west, inner and outer, OK? Dr. Lad has written a beautiful piece on Unfolding Emotion into Compassion for times like these when fear and hopelessness call for action and inaction to transform. Please read and take in the insights from this powerful article. Below please see how Covid19 has triggered seminar changes for 2020, an exciting new Ayurveda book review, and an important announcement about the C.A.R.E. Foundation. We wander and we wonder but within our self, till inside and outside touch as the deathless rose that blooms forever in the heart of God... The truth is wider and wider than her forms the body, an idea, as infinite as beauty the blue egg of the sky cracking open and the seagull gliding free and now when the eyes of the day are closing Yes, I have eaten of the world's flesh and now in the darkening splendor of the final day, the rendezvous of Knowledge with Itself My garden is a source of beauty, inspiration, and peace to myself and visitors. This edition, I’ve shared with you, dear Reader, some of the colours of these peak summertime blooms and blossoms. You know I love to read and hear about your Ayurveda educational process and clinical needs. Now is the time to give emphasis to Ayurveda for self-care of body, mind, and soul I feel, and help uplift suffering humanity. Only from our own wellness are we able to support others. This is the year for meditation, spiritual surrender, and remembering our Divine Nature. Be well and let Ayurveda support your inward journey, now and all ways. Jaisri M. Lambert, Founder |
