Client surveys: initial findings

We value and use the feedback employees and employers provide through our periodic client satisfaction surveys. We now have initial findings to share from our 2022–23 Client Satisfaction Survey program. Top of the list is more automation and availability of online services. Employers may be interested to learn more than 2 in 3 employees agreed that the scheme has a positive influence on their intention to stay in the industry.

Public holidays and long service leave

With the Christmas break approaching fast, remember that under Section 39AE of the Admin Act, public holidays do not count as long service leave.

This means if you have employees on long service leave on a public holiday during that period, they will not have any hours deducted from their long service leave balance.

Last leave and levy submissions for 2022

Plan ahead for the Christmas break… 

Leave applications should be submitted by Friday 16 December for processing this year. Applications received after this date may not be processed until after Tuesday 3 January.

There are no changes to submission or payment dates for levy returns; they're still required on or before 28 December for November hours.

Annual Report 2021–22 now available

Last financial year we processed 19,033 long service leave applications for 54,603 active eligible employees, and reimbursed employers more than $150 million in employee long service leave entitlements. Details of achievements for the last financial year are available online now.

Diary dates

Important dates for your diary:

  • Levy return and payment for November are due on or before 28 December.
    The form and helpful guide are available on our website under Levy Reporting. For those already enrolled on Levy Loader, see the online Levy Loader support resources.
     
  • Annual audit report for 2021–22 is due within six months of the end of the financial year. 
    Support materials are available on our website under Legal Obligations. For organisations with a 30 June year-end, audit reports are due to Coal LSL by 31 December annually.
