![]() NDIS Check Prosecution Outcome An NDIS Worker Screening compliance investigation has led to a prosecution in the Perth Magistrates Court. The accused has been fined $12,000 for working while suspended and ordered to pay $7,576.60 in court costs. Information for registered NDIS providers The NDIS Worker Screening Unit may suspend an NDIS Check clearance if the person has a relevant change in their criminal history, disciplinary or misconduct records. A suspension prohibits the person from being engaged in a risk assessed role for a registered NDIS provider. It remains in place until it is revoked by the Screening Unit or a final outcome is issued. Registered NDIS providers are reminded to ensure all workers engaged in risk assessed roles hold a valid NDIS Check clearance. It is important to 'link' your workers to your organisation in the NDIS Worker Screening Database (commonly known as the NWSD) to ensure you are alerted to any changes in a worker’s NDIS Check status. If you have any doubts about a worker’s NDIS Check status, you should contact the NDIS Worker Screening Unit. The NDIS Worker Screening Unit’s Compliance Team carry out proactive compliance activities and investigations to ensure workers are doing the right thing when it comes to NDIS Checks.
