    Inter-House Swimming Carnival 

    Monday's Inter-House Swimming Carnival saw take out the House Champions title!

    At PLC, we encourage students to give everything a go, and we are very proud of the efforts shown by each and every participant at the event.

    Flexischools Update 

    We have been informed that current Year 7 students will need to update the campus in your Flexischools account for students to be able to order food from the PLC Cafeteria and Bev's Cafe.

    How to Use Your SmartRider

    Ordering Photos

    Last week, your daughter/s should have received an envelope at the time their school photo was taken. This envelope includes important details as to how to purchase the photos, pricing, and packs available, along with your daughter’s individual shoot key.

    If paying by cash or cheque, place the money within your daughter’s envelope and return it to Scorgie House Reception by the morning of Monday 13 February. Please note, envelopes only need to be returned if paying by cash. If purchasing photos online, please visit Photo Hendricks here. You will need to provide the individual shoot key provided on your daughter’s allocated envelope to access the photos. 

    If your children are had a family photo taken, a Family Order Envelope would have also been distributed by the photographers on the day. Orders can again be placed online or returned with any late orders to Scorgie House Reception by the morning of Monday 13 February.

    If your daughter/s has misplaced her envelope, please contact Reception on (08) 9460 6444 and they will provide the individual shoot key. For any other inquiries, please call the Photo Hendricks Customer Service team at (08) 9361 3206.

    Special Group Photos

    On Monday 13 February, we will be capturing photographs of our 2023 boarders, Year 12 cohort, and our Pipe Band, Gorna Liyarn, Lifers, Foundation and Pastiche students. On this date, we ask students to assemble at the Hugh Baird Sports Centre at their allocated times.

    Service Opportunity
    The Smith Family Student2Student Programme

    The Smith Family Student2Student Programme works by matching students from other schools who need to improve their reading with peer buddies over an 18-week period, who help and encourage them with their reading. PLC has been supporting this programme for many years, with great success. An information afternoon to answer any questions is being held at PLC Auditorium on Wednesday 15 February from 3.30 pm – 4.15 pm.

    The Year 11 ATAR Drama students are thrilled to present the Year 11 Curriculum Play for 2023, Impending Everyone.

    Sleepout for Homelessness

    The IB CAS students are hosting a sleepout for Homelessness, supporting the work of Uniting WA, on Friday 24 February 2023.

    Uniting WA provide services to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Western Australia. 

    Choose a level of discomfort, sleep out with friends or by yourself and raise some money to support vulnerable people in our community.

    Katanning Community Sundowner

    PLC Perth is heading to Katanning for a Community Sundowner on Thursday 9 March along with our friends from Scotch College.

    Principal, Cate Begbie, Director of Boarding, Susie Edwards and Director of Wellbeing, Chonny James, warmly invite you to join them for an evening uniting PLC and Scotch Old Collegians with past, current and future families.

    PLC will also be at the Wagin Woolorama on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 March so please stop by and say hello!

    Perfect Score for Olive Erikson (2022)

    On Sunday evening, the School received communication from the IB that Olive’s ToK remark has come back with a grade change from a B to an A. This means that she now is awarded the maximum of 3 bonus points and her final grade is a perfect score of 45 / ATAR 99.95.

    PLC Performs at the 2023 Alzheimer's Ball

    On Saturday 4 February, the PLC Perth and Scotch College Big Band teamed up to perform at the Alzheimer's Ball. Joined by Principal, Ms Cate Begbie, and Director of Music, Mr Chris Goff, the evening took form in the theme of jazz. It was an honour to be involved in this event and provide support to those people affected by Alzheimer's disease. 

    Pipers Attend Pipe Band Summer School in Christchurch

    A number of PLC Pipe Band members past and present attended the Royal New Zealand Pipe Band Summer School in Christchurch in January. 

    Chevii-Jay Clarke (Year 12) and Lucy Finlay (Year 12) were interviewed at this event for the New Zealand national news.
