Planning is well underway for this engaging and collaborative one-day event at Optus Stadium, which will be followed by an evening function celebrating the ARPA WA Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards. We have many more exciting projects and collaborations in the pipeline for this year, so make sure to stay subscribed so you don’t miss out on the latest updates! FOCUSFocus on responsibility Failure to have a valid workers' compensation insurance policyOur compliance team identifies and collects evidence to infringe or prosecute cases when an employer operates while uninsured. A company was recently fined and ordered to pay avoided premiums totalling $214,989.77 for not holding a valid workers' compensation insurance policy. The company’s director was also fined $20,000.00, with the Court finding the director had failed to follow-up after delegating responsibility for insurance obligations to a third party. Directors are ultimately responsible for legal obligations and must confirm compliance by obtaining a Certificate of Currency issued by the insurer.
