Welcome to the ‘Let’s Go CNIB Lake Joe’ quarterly e-newsletter! In this issue, we share exciting updates on special subsidies for all of our Children & Youth programs, plus brand new programs for young adults and adults who want to get active. We will introduce you to our new Program Manager, highlight a 20+ year volunteer, and show how to join the CNIB Lake Joe team in 2023.

Meet our CNIB Lake Joe Team: Monique, Eugene, Maria, Emily, Barry, Sherri, Emilee, Taylor G., Jade, and Willow, Ambassador Dog, CNIB Guide Dogs.

CNIB Lake Joe is on land which is the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek (Ojibwe, Pottowattami, and Odawa) people. The Anishinabek still regard these lands as the hunting grounds, medicine areas, and gathering places, related to them through oral history passed down for generations. Other Indigenous Nations have come to occupy this land, such as the Haudenosaunee and the Metis Nation. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet here, and we thank all the generations of people who have taken care of this land for thousands of years.

Kids come to camp for just $150 in 2023!

Once again, thanks to our generous supporters, we are able to further subsidize CNIB Lake Joe’s Children & Youth programs this year. Registration fees are $150/week and cover accommodations, all meals, onsite programming and ground transportation to/from select hubs in Ontario.

Meet Maria, CNIB Lake Joe’s new Program Manager

“Camp was always a place of growth for me,” Maria explains. “There are always places for you to go, learn, and see yourself in the future. I wanted to make camp a more accessible place for people so that no matter what, someone could always participate.”
