This email is being sent to individuals with access to maintain advising cohorts and/or academic requirement cohorts in Workday Student. Workday Student is live. You are now responsible for updating and maintaining your school or unit’s advising cohorts and/or academic requirement cohorts. We strongly encourage you to make any updates as soon as possible; ideally by this Friday, Feb. 21, no later than Feb. 28, before the majority of advising appointments occur in March ahead of registration in April. See details below on the impact of delaying this work. As a reminder, the data in the system currently reflects student membership in cohorts and advisor assignments based on what your school or unit provided to the Student Sunrise project by Dec. 6, 2024. That means you need to make updates to reflect any changes that have occurred since then, such as student program of study changes, advisor reassignments or sabbaticals. You also need to maintain your cohorts to reflect any changes that occur in Workday starting today, Feb. 17, 2025. ImpactAdvising cohorts control what advisors can see and do in the system – namely viewing student records, making notes, and lifting registration holds (authorizing registration), if required. Incorrect assignments will negatively impact advisors’ ability to support their students, so it's paramount for you to make any updates as soon as possible. Ensuring academic requirement cohorts are up to date will ensure that students and their advisors can see all of their requirements and progress, including any program variations like tracks, while planning for registration. Advisors have been told to expect updates to their cohorts within the first week or two of go-live, after which point they should contact you–staff with cohort management roles in their school or unit–with any questions, concerns, or change requests. If anyone submits a ticket in ServiceNow regarding their cohort membership or advisor assignments, we will direct them to you to make any updates in Workday.
