Rumble Roadshow skates into Armidale

We had a great day at the skatepark last week as we welcomed a huge array of local skateboarding talent to the park.

Following the success of Australia's Olympic skateboarding campaign, which resulted in two gold medals, interest in the sport is at an all-time high. The Rumble Roadshow aims to harness this enthusiasm by offering local youth the opportunity to engage with the sport in a fun and supportive environment.

The event featured an all-ages competition, where participants showcased their skills and won prizes based on their effort, improvement, and creativity.

Mayor Sam Coupland checked in to meet some of the Rumble Roadshow crew, and even showed off some of his own skills for the crew to take on the road with them.

Work set to commence at Curtis Park Playground

The design reflects community wishes expressed during consultation in 2024. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025, weather permitting.

Curtis Park Playground Expansion will enclose an area of 1.6 acres, extending from the northern end of the car park at the Visitor Information Centre across to Faulkner Street, joining into the existing playground fences. This will create a large safe area for children of various ages to play. New play equipment will be added. The existing play equipment to the north of the car park will be removed and repurposed.

Playground users; You will still be able to access the existing playground while work is underway. Fencing will be installed, enclosing the area that will be under construction.

90 new citizens receive their Australian citizenship

The Armidale region welcomed 90 new citizens during the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony last week in Central Park.

It is always a highlight for #TeamARC to create a wonderful event for our newest citizens to create great memories of their special day. If there is someone you know in the gallery congratulate them in the comments!
