Dear Residents,

Last weekend was a difficult time for our city, I would like to honour and remember the victims of the attacks at Bondi and Wakeley. On behalf of Council, I share our deep regrets to their friends and families and extend our gratitude to the first responders who did not hesitate in rushing to the scenes. We also extend our support to our fellow Councils as they support their communities through this tragic time.

As we reflect on the events of that weekend, let us reaffirm our commitment to standing together as a community. May the memories of those lost inspire us to work towards a world where such violence is but a distant memory, and where we can more readily identify and enable support to those with mental health challenges.

Strathfield has our own tragic history with incidents like these, and many residents may be revisited by difficult memories and emotions during this time. If you need someone to talk with, help is available –

Join us for Anzac Day 2024

Head to Davey Square Reserve, 10am on Anzac Day 25 April, to join us for a memorial service to recognise the more than 1.5 million service men and women who have served our country in all conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations.
