Click here 18 April 2024Cr Karen Pensabene, Mayor of Strathfield Dear Residents, Last weekend was a difficult time for our city, I would like to honour and remember the victims of the attacks at Bondi and Wakeley. On behalf of Council, I share our deep regrets to their friends and families and extend our gratitude to the first responders who did not hesitate in rushing to the scenes. We also extend our support to our fellow Councils as they support their communities through this tragic time. As we reflect on the events of that weekend, let us reaffirm our commitment to standing together as a community. May the memories of those lost inspire us to work towards a world where such violence is but a distant memory, and where we can more readily identify and enable support to those with mental health challenges. Strathfield has our own tragic history with incidents like these, and many residents may be revisited by difficult memories and emotions during this time.
