If you feel like a winner when you log in to DDD, then you might be one of the 1 300 officials who recently accessed the DDD Dashboard for the first time ever, only to discover that a quick 15-minute dashboard session each week can yield enough insight to make a real difference to your learners’ lives.

Part of that support involves helping our hard-working educators as well, and the dashboard does that too! For a solid introduction to the Educator Information Report and how to use this to support teachers in the classroom, be sure to join a DDD webinar next Thursday or next Friday.

In this edition of DataPoint we recap the latest enhancements made to the dashboard, share exciting news of what’s coming up next, and offer a quick video-based view of how to get the most out of your term-to-date (weekly) submissions by using the Term to Date section of the dashboard.   As we head into the last stretch of Term 2, education officials are keeping a close eye on their learners by submitting and monitoring weekly data, logging in to the dashboard regularly, and using insights to inform their decisions. Here’s a quick snapshot of how it’s going:

13 105 SCHOOLS   11 600 OFFICIALS   4 875 USERS   32%: GAUTENG
have submitted term-to-date (weekly) data so far, in Term 2. This equals 54% of the schools that submit data to SA-SAMS.   have logged in to the DDD Dashboard in Term 2 so far. That’s 47% more than the number of officials who logged in during Term 1.   in this term are regular dashboard users, having logged in to the dashboard in both Term 1 and Term 2 (“repeat” users).   A third of Term 2 repeat users (1 549) are from Gauteng. Close behind are Limpopo (909) and Mpumalanga (702).

  DASHBOARD UPDATES

It’s been a busy few weeks, with multiple enhancements rolling out on DDD, all of which aim to make your user experience simpler and more efficient while helping to improve the overall performance of the dashboard. A huge shout-out to all the officials who regularly give the DDD team input by participating in workshops, feedback sessions and webinars, and by submitting suggestions via the website chatbot and helpdesk. Your contributions are more valuable than you know!

  FET PROMOTION PROFILING
You asked, we answered!
By now you may have noticed the updated Detail page (showing a shorter, concise view, with click-through buttons) as well as the new Trends tab (containing all line graphs) and the extra buttons on the Reports page for quicker PI and data access. See below for more.   Since April more than 1 300 first-time users have accessed the dashboard. In all cases, these officials had access granted more than a year ago, but hadn’t yet experienced the benefits of dashboard insights. If you’re one of them, join us at a webinar or contact us for info.   Keep an eye out for the new FET Promotion Profiling report, which will provide curriculum officials with a ”deep dive” into promotion metrics. It will highlight which subjects (with support) could deliver the most improvement in pass rates. To catch up on other recent updates click below.

But it’s about far more than “working smart”, adds Mr Tladi, who says DDD equips them to make informed data-driven decisions to implement smart, system-wide interventions.   Mrs Morongwa also highlights the Learning Hub as an “easy way” to access information without any delay. “We can go paperless, colleagues! Thank you DDD”.   Other benefits include being able to intervene quickly; ensuring work doesn’t pile up unnecessarily; and having a data back-up if your system crashes, says Ms Mahloele.
