Fun, Food and Cultural Festivities coming to Homebush West September 26

Dear Residents,

Monday morning we officially opened two projects – the Strathfield Park Revitalisation project and the upgrade of the Cooke Park Skate Park! Both these projects were funded by the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program and are wonderful additions to our parks. Thank you to the NSW Member for Strathfield, Jason Yat-sen Li MP, and Cr Esther Kim for joining me at the openings and congratulations to the Council staff on the amazing work. We hope you enjoy the new spaces, just in time for school holidays!

The HSC is coming up and Council is committed to supporting our young residents through this milestone. As such, Extended Hours Access will temporarily return to Strathfield Council Library & Innovation Hub for HSC students from 28 September to 4 November 2026. The safety of people accessing the Library is our top priority and as such enhanced security measures are in place. You can find out more information online and register here.

The Strathfield Town Centre Masterplan will be on exhibition soon! From 21 September you will have the chance to have your say on this important planning document that will inform the future of one of our busiest hubs. Stay tuned to the eNews and social media for more information including information sessions.

Finally, the Moon Festival returns to Homebush West next Saturday 26 September! With live entertainment, delicious food and cultural performances, it's the best way to celebrate the season and our community. I will be there and look forward to seeing you all too, on The Crescent from 1pm.

Book Your Induction Today to Have Extended Hours Access to Strathfield Council Library & Innovation Hub

Extended Hours Access will temporarily return to Strathfield Council Library & Innovation Hub from 28 September to 4 November.

During this time there will be enhanced security measures, including an onsite security guard and mandatory face-to-face inductions for all members prior to obtaining access.

Registrations via Humanitix are essential for inductions and can be booked online.

2026 Photography Competition announced!

Friends of Mason Park Wetland Inc is pleased to announce that entries are now open for our fourth annual photography competition. Entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Photos must reflect some aspect - good or bad - of the biodiversity (flora and fauna) at Mason Park Wetland.

Photographers can submit up to four photos taken at Mason Park Wetland, regardless of when they were taken, provided each entry is formatted according to the competition rules. More information about competition and submission rules can be found on the Friends of Mason Park Wetland Inc website.
