This year has been full of highlights for UAL Short Courses not limited to the introduction of Self-paced courses, the opening of London College of Fashion East Bank campus as well as receiving up to a 15% increase in student satisfaction. Our tutors are truly a beacon of knowledge and creativity, allowing students to get inspired and learn new skills. We look forward to students and tutors joining us again in the Spring. When: 12 February 2025 at 5:30pm – 6.30 pm with drinks afterwards Where: This event will be at Central Saint Martins. Room TBC We will try out a hybrid meeting model, so joining online will be possible. Please contact your coordinator for the Microsoft Teams link. As well as an overview of short courses; we will have tutors speaking about their experience of using Padlet and working with learners with low English skills and additional needs, offering their insight and top tips. This is a great opportunity to meet other short course tutors and staff, so please join us! ![]() Tutor Guidance on Marketing Activity for Short Courses![]() There is a new document that outlines tips and guidance on marketing activity you can explore to support your short course. It contains useful information on ways you can work with the marketing team to promote your course using editorial, imagery and content, social media and the requirements for this. You can find it on the tutor hub under the 'Marketing and development of current courses' section of the General information page. ![]() Tutor survey 📝![]() Thank you all for taking the time to complete our Tutor Survey! Your valuable feedback will go towards raising the quality of the Short Course tutor experience. We plan to share the results and actions resulting from them in early 2025. ![]() Open roaming![]() ![]() UAL have recently introduced Open Roaming, a service that allows you to connect to Wi-Fi networks seamlessly without needing passwords or additional credentials, using secure authentication via Google or Apple. This acts as a public Wi-Fi service and may benefit you and your students if other networks fail. Hosted by UAL Staff Jheni Arboine, and Hannah Hyde, this workshop is open to all UAL staff and students. When: Wednesday, 29 January 2025 at 12 - 2:15pm Where: 272 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7EY Read: UAL named the best Adobe Creative CampusIn an ongoing Adobe campaign to encourage the usage of Adobe Express to create digital content, UAL came out on top as winners of their A-List competition. The competition involved all creative campuses across the UK. Adobe's campaign manager speaks to promoting a more accessible software by encouraging students to embrace digital design and innovation with Adobe Express. Read: Creative Boom's take on design trends for 2025Art magazine Creative Boom share their thoughts on where the creative industry is headed next year. The article touches on generative AI reshaping design, a return towards handcrafted human-centered design, sound, sustainability and so much more.
