Denise joined us in 2016 and been an integral member of the team, providing invaluable support to our clients, their families, and the CÜRA team. She has dedicated her skills as a social worker and gifted her compassion in abundance. We are a better organisation for having benefitted from her wise and gentle leadership. We will work with Denise over the coming months to ensure that we facilitate a smooth handover to the person that takes stewardship of this vital role. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact your supervisor. ![]() WELLNESS CHECKS - UPDATEDIt is MANDATORY that you carry out COVID-19 Wellness Checks prior to conducting services and meetings with clients. Please make sure you are calling clients before any visits and asking the questions below. If clients DO NOT answer your Wellness Check call at the start of the day, you still need to go to the scheduled client visit at the scheduled time. If the client answers their door, you must step back and do your wellness check before proceeding to go into the client’s home or they get into your car. Wellness checks MUST be completed on the day of the visit/service NOT the day before. Wellness Check Script: Hello, how are you today? I am going to ask you a few questions before I visit you today... 1. How are you feeling? Do you have any of the following symptoms?
2. Are you or visitors in your home waiting for a COVID test result? 3. Have you been in close contact with anyone who has recently tested positive for COVID-19 (within 14 days)? 4. Do you have any family, friends or visitors staying with you that have any symptoms? If a client answers yes to any of the above questions, please let them know that you are not able to provide the service today and that the office will contact them to discuss further. A health education toolkit Federation of Ethnic Communities Council Australia (FECCA) has teamed up with the Jean Hailes Foundation to deliver translated information for women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. CÜRA Clean TeamWe are hiring! ![]() CÜRA are in-home domestic workers on the Gold Coast to help meet increasing demand for domestic support for our Commonwealth Home Support Program clients. What does the Clean Team do? They work in teams of two going into the home and completing domestic assistance, meal prep and social support with a cup of tea at the end of each shift. We see this as a great pathway for community members to become a Home Care Worker and learn more about community services careers. We can support those who may, over time, want to do a Certificate III in Individual Support and work in Ageing and disability. Want to know more? Any decisions around mandating the vaccine in those settings will shift to the employer to manage. Queensland Health workers, and workers in aged care and disability care, will still be required to stay up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations. Face masks will no longer be mandatory on domestic flights. All other isolation requirements remain the same https://www.qld.gov.au/.../coronav.../i-have-covid/isolation Face masks are still required for public transport and rideshare, high-risk settings and for those who have tested positive to COVID-19, are a close contact, or have symptoms. The Queensland Government announced free RATs would be available at specific Queensland Health facilities for concession card holders. Eligible people can get up to five RAT kits per month.
