Message from the SLSNSW President, George Shales OAMAgain we see our lives, our livelihoods, our lifestyles and our families and friends affected by this terrible COVID emergency with state-wide restrictions and an extended lockdown in Greater Sydney. It’s times like this, as lifesavers, that we can call on who we are, what we love and draw strength that we are part of a broader extended family and support network in Surf Life Saving. How Instincts Were Behind Major Rescue on Far North CoastJason Armbruster thanked his training when he reflected on the events of a beautiful Ballina morning in April, events that would sequentially add up and lay the platform for him to be awarded the Surf Life Saving NSW Rescue of the Month. However, he conceded that, while training gives you the tools to know what is required in difficult situations, in the heat of the moment, you need your instincts to guide you as well.
