Congratulations to the finalists named in the 2021 Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence! Sydney Northern Beaches Branch winners will be added following their Awards in August.

Message from the SLSNSW President, George Shales OAM
Again we see our lives, our livelihoods, our lifestyles and our families and friends affected by this terrible COVID emergency with state-wide restrictions and an extended lockdown in Greater Sydney. It’s times like this, as lifesavers, that we can call on who we are, what we love and draw strength that we are part of a broader extended family and support network in Surf Life Saving.
How Instincts Were Behind Major Rescue on Far North Coast
Jason Armbruster thanked his training when he reflected on the events of a beautiful Ballina morning in April, events that would sequentially add up and lay the platform for him to be awarded the Surf Life Saving NSW Rescue of the Month. However, he conceded that, while training gives you the tools to know what is required in difficult situations, in the heat of the moment, you need your instincts to guide you as well.
WIN an IRB Hull for your Club Thanks to Ampol
As one of SLSA’s Major National Partners, Ampol is contributing to our frontline services by giving away two (2) Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Hulls to two (2) deserving Surf Life Saving Clubs. To enter your club into the running, just tell us (in 100 words or less) why your club needs a new IRB hull. Get in quick, this competition will run from Monday 19 July 2021 until Sunday 22 August 2021, with the winners named on Monday 30 August. Good luck!
DonateLife - Keith Caldwell's Story
Keith Caldwell died as he lived – serving the community. The family of the much-loved former policeman and veteran surf lifesaver chose to donate his organs and body tissue after he had a stroke and died at RPA’s Intensive Care Unit earlier this year.
Australian Life Saving Team Squads for 2022 Life Saving World Champs Named
Congratulations to the NSW athletes selected for the Australian Open Life Saving Team and Pathways Squad for the 2022 Life Saving World Championships.

Coolangatta Gold 2021 - Early Bird Entries Close 8 August!
The iconic Coolangatta Gold will return in 2021, following the cancellation of the event in 2020 due to COVID-19. Entries are now open for the endurance event that will take place from 16-17 October on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
