June 1 Schedule Update
Dear Valued Customer and Community Member,
The Mount Rainier Pool will be updating its schedule effective Monday, June 1, 2026.
The schedule is being adjusted to include six day of swim lessons a week (Monday through Saturday).
LAP SWIMMERS
We have added an extra hour of lap swimming on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and will be closing at 9:00pm.
WATER EXERCISE
We are excited to announce that our water exercise is growing and is included in all of our passes/daily fees. Options now include:
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9-10am with Debbie
- Tuesday/Thursday, 9-10am with Lesley
- Tuesday/Thursday, 6-7pm with Jill
- Deep Water: Friday, 10:15-11am with Debbie
Don't forget that your fees also cover water walking before and after your classes.
FAMILIES/WEEKENDS
We are dedicated to providing a Third Place for youth and families in our and surrounding communities.
- $2 Swim with Your Kids Rate: We are currently offering any parent the ability to pay $2 additional dollars to swim with their children. This is open for all swims.
- $3 Youth Summer Swim Fees: Effective June 22 through September 4, we will offer a reduced rate to
CLOSURES/REDUCED HOURS
We will have the following schedule changes during this time. The pool will be open regular hours on June 18.
· Friday, July 3 – Pool closes at 6:00p
· Saturday, July 4 – Pool closed entire day.

TRANSLATION AVAILABLE
The Mount Rainier Pool website is now translatable to over 200 languages.
We also post PDF translations of the next schedule in:
The translation is available for both the website and registration portal. This includes scholarship applications and job interest cards.

*The Mount Rainier Pool received grants for free lifeguard prep certifications to help young people transition into lifeguarding and swim instruction. This is a great first step for many youth that may want to move into first-responder careers or have a flexible job that works around their academics and extracurricular activities.
CITY CURRENTS MAGAZINE
The City of Des Moines and Des Moines Pool Metropolitan Park District have partnered to produce the Des Moines City Currents . The magazine has great information about the City of Des Moines, and the last couple of pages now contain news from the pool district and our programs and services.
