Click here ![]() ![]() UALSC Tutor update - October 2024![]() ![]() ![]() This October we celebrate Black History Month, shining a light on the untold stories of black creatives. To discover more, visit the Black Creatives Hub. In the coming weeks all tutors will get an overview of student feedback across the courses they taught last term. We received over 1500 responses across 530 events last term plus, have increased our Net Promoter Score to 55, up 4 points from 2022/23. UAL Short Courses also want to hear from you, so we encourage you to share your thoughts with us in our annual tutor survey. Read on to discover the latest news, events and updates this October. ![]() Self-paced online courses![]() ![]() We are ramping up development of our ‘Self-paced’ online courses. These are courses that learners can do at their own speed and at a time that suits them. Self-Paced courses have a mix of pre-recorded lectures, instructional videos and can also include exercises, activities, and projects. We are keen to hear about any ideas you have for relevant Self-Paced courses you might want to develop or see developed. If we approve development, we have a skilled team that will help you structure and produce the content. Please send any ideas or further questions you have to Mauro and Bryony in the Product team, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. It’s important to note that the majority of images captured by the marketing team are typically candid shots; therefore, tutors might want to consider this style when submitting their own images. Adhering to these specifications will help maintain a consistent and professional appearance across the website. You only need to fill it in once, but if you've remembered something you want to add feel free to complete it again. This survey is anonymous and we welcome your candour about your experiences as a Short Course tutor. It should not take more than 6 minutes to complete and is a chance for you to comment on recent changes and make suggestions for improvements The survey responses will be collated in November, giving us an opportunity to gather responses from both summer school and term time tutors, and we plan to share the results and actions resulting from them in early 2025. All students receive an email at the end of their course inviting them to complete our feedback survey. Every term tutors receive feedback reports, it is your responsibility to get your response rates up. Please remind students to look out for the Student Feedback Survey email at the end of their course. It portrays the feelings of landing in the heart of the empire, having ones voices heard and the power of the diaspora. Writer, storyteller and spatial practitioner Sarah, became a MullenLowe NOVA Awards 2024 nominee in recognition of her work. Read: 5 UAL alumni showcase at the Standing Ground exhibitionThe Standing Ground exhibition is centered around painting the British landscape, exploring the cross-cultural forms of what that looks like. Held from 6 - 22 September at Thames-Side Studios Gallery, the exhibition featured work by 5 University of the Arts London alumni, including Sir Frank Bowling OBE and Kimathi Donkor.
