The Principal, Council and St Andrew’s College community honour the life of Dr Robert Fraser Brown who passed away in November 2021, aged 83.
Robert attended St Andrew’s College from 1956–1962. He was involved with many extracurriculars during his attendance at
the College, having competed in tennis, squash, athletics, billiards and bridge. He was a particularly avid tennis player and was a member of the Rawson Cup Tennis team during all seven years of his attendance at St Andrew's and the team's Captain for two of those years. Robert was also awarded a highly regarded University Blue for tennis in 1959.
He was a leader at the College, serving as the House Committee's Honorary Assistant Treasurer in 1960 and Year Representative in 1961 and 1962 as well as a Student's Representative on the Management Committee of the
University Sports Union.
Robert earned his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Sydney and his qualifications as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in England, achieving his medical career in orthopedic surgery.
Hailing from Tamworth, Robert is also an alumnus of The
Scots College.
