In Memory of Theodore Wright, Jr.The Friends of the Fells has learned that in January Theodore Wright Jr., passed away in Albany, NY at the age of 94. It was the Friends of the Fells great fortune to have known “Ted” over the past number of years. Save the Date: Earth Week VolunteeringWe are excited for the imminent return of regular group volunteer opportunities in the Fells!To kick off the season, we are planning a number of service opportunities throughout the Fells to correspond with Earth Day and Earth Week (Thursday, April 22nd through Sunday April 26th). Seeking a Social Media Volunteer for our Facebook PageFriends of the Fells is looking for a volunteer to help us continue to build our brand and increase our visibility on social media through the management of our Facebook page (@FriendsoftheFells).Events Calendar UpdateApril guided hikes have been posted, Earth Week volunteer dates are in the works, and many more spring activities are soon to follow! A reminder that space is strictly limited for all of our events, and pre-registration will be required (no on-site registrations will be permitted). New activities are scheduled frequently, so be sure to check back on our calendar often! More change occurs in the Fells woods during April than one might realize. Reminder: The Friends of the Fells Board of Directors holds a monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing protocols, these meetings are now conducted virtually. The next meeting will be held April 13th at 7pm.
