Announcing the Sustainable Fells Campaign
Dear Friends,
The Friends of the Fells is excited to announce a significant expansion of our conservation work with the establishment of the Sustainable Fells Campaign.
We look forward to inviting you to join us in these efforts as projects get underway in the coming months.
In Memory of Theodore Wright, Jr.
The Friends of the Fells has learned that in January Theodore Wright Jr., passed away in Albany, NY at the age of 94.
It was the Friends of the Fells great fortune to have known “Ted” over the past number of years.
Save the Date: Earth Week Volunteering
We are excited for the imminent return of regular group volunteer opportunities in the Fells!
To kick off the season, we are planning a number of service opportunities throughout the Fells to correspond with Earth Day and Earth Week (Thursday, April 22nd through Sunday April 26th).
Details are still being finalized, so keep an eye out for an additional email update very soon.

Join Us on a Spring Hike this April
Our spring events calendar is off to a strong start this month!
Our April guided walks include two hikes led by Boot Boutwell, two birdwatching outings, and a Long Pond walk with Winchester Trails.
Become a Fells Forest Camp Instructor this summer
Are you passionate about the Fells, conservation, ecology, education, and introducing children to the wonders of nature, or know someone who is?
Join our staff this summer and help us to provide an enriching camp experience to hundreds of students ages 4 to 12!
Seeking a Social Media Volunteer for our Facebook Page
Friends of the Fells is looking for a volunteer to help us continue to build our brand and increase our visibility on social media through the management of our Facebook page (@FriendsoftheFells).

April guided hikes have been posted, Earth Week volunteer dates are in the works, and many more spring activities are soon to follow!
A reminder that space is strictly limited for all of our events, and pre-registration will be required (no on-site registrations will be permitted).
New activities are scheduled frequently, so be sure to check back on our calendar often!

By volunteering with us, you will help to preserve the history, ecology, and beauty of the Middlesex Fells for generations to come.

Reminder: The Friends of the Fells Board of Directors holds a monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing protocols, these meetings are now conducted virtually.
The next meeting will be held April 13th at 7pm.
