School's Invited to Register for Red and Yellow Day - 1 December 2021To celebrate National Water Safety Day, we are asking schools across the country to register and participate in a day of beach-themed activities. On December 1, join us and raise awareness of the importance of swimming between the red and yellow flags at the beach. Get your students dressed up in red and yellow and take them through a fun range of classroom activities. Let’s get our communities ready for summer, and make sure we all have fun and stay safe while enjoying our beautiful water ways and beaches. A Beacon of Safety for Manly's Shelly BeachVisitors to one of Sydney's most iconic coastal locations, Shelly Beach, will be able to swim a little safer with new lifesaving technology installed for use in emergencies, unveiled earlier this month by the NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services, David Elliott. Thousands of Australians to Join Lifesaving 24 Hour Row EventThis weekend, over 2,000 surf club members and rowers Australia-wide will be taking part in the 2021 24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness supporting Gotcha4Life. In a year where the focus on mental fitness is more important than ever, event organisers are excited to see the enthusiasm from so many clubs to participate and help raise money for such an important cause. Vale Ron Bradley OAMIt is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Corrimal SLSC, Illawarra Branch and Surf Life Saving NSW Life Member, Ron Bradley OAM, who passed away on Tuesday 19 October. A man of great commitment and loyalty, the 2021/22 summer would have been his 77th consecutive season at Corrimal SLSC, having joined initially as a probationary member in 1944. 2022 Lifesaving Development CampApplications are now open for the 2022 Lifesaving Development Camp! This is an incredible opportunity for our youth members to expand their knowledge and skill set whilst making new friends and creating unforgettable memories. We're also looking for members interested in joining the camp's Leadership Team. Teens Think Quick in Surf AccidentAn incredible exhibition of composure and bravery in difficult circumstances has seen a potentially awful accident become a shining example of Nipper education after a young Newport SLSC member was rescued during a club training session. Radio Network Upgrade Improves Safety on BeachesSurf lifesavers will have state-of-the-art communications systems able to respond sooner in an emergency when an upgrade to the radio network servicing the Hunter and Lower North Coast regions of NSW is complete. CPR Push-a-thonJoin in the CPR Push-a-thon, between now and November 19. Form a team, sign up, get sponsored and start pushing! Each push raises funds for Heart of the Nation and Restart a Heart Day. How long can your team push for?
