Surf Lifesavers Remember Anzacs

Surf Lifesavers Remember Anzacs

The association between the Surf Life Saving movement and the military began in its infancy, and on Wednesday thousands of club members paused to remember the sacrifice and contribution that these lifesavers made to the Australian way of life.

Tathra Appeal

Surf Life Saving NSW is proud to stand alongside and support the Tathra community as they work to recover and rebuild after the devastating bushfires that swept through the area in March.

As they now move into the rebuild phase, we have launched an appeal to provide much needed relief to the communities impacted. The total sum donated will be forwarded to the Mayoral Appeal Fund where the management and distribution of these funds will be overseen by an independent Advisory Panel chaired by the Mayor Cr, Kirsty McBain.

All donations are greatly appreciated and can be made here.

AIDR Emergency Management Volunteer Scholarship

On behalf of the Federal Government the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) is offering the AIDR Emergency Management Volunteer Scholarship Rd 3, which is now open and closes on 14 May 2018.

The million dollar scholarship fund has been established to recognise the complex service delivered by volunteers and the high-level skills and leadership required to respond to emergency situations.  Funding is available for the reimbursement of education and training costs for volunteers in an emergency management agency that wish to undertake studies in accredited units or courses in emergency and disaster management vocational training and education, and higher education.

A letter of endorsement is required with every application. For more information please click here.
