This change was the result of advocacy by the Brazilian Parents of Preemies’ Association and civil society groups who highlighted the struggles of families with preterm babies. My name is Sajida, a mother of five children, facing challenges and hardships every day and at each step of my life for survival. My husband had an accident in which both his legs were compromised and now he is hardly able to work as a laborer and it was almost impossible to make ends meet. Life took an even more challenging turn when I found that, Oh…. I am pregnant, again! I was stressed, overwhelmed with mixed feelings of joy and sorrow and completely lost in thoughts of upcoming insecurities and uncertainties of future which this pregnancy and childbirth will entail! ![]() NewsOn September 12, PMNCH held the second peer learning exchange for CAAP partners from 10 countries, promoting cross-country learning, sharing decisions from the 33rd PMNCH Board meeting, and discussing strategies for implementing the MNCH resolution from the 77th WHA. Fifteen partners from Nigeria, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Senegal, Zambia, Ethiopia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania, contributed insights and recommendations. PMNCH sincerely appreciates the efforts and commitment of these partners. PMNCH actively engaged in the 149th IPU Assembly (October 13-17, Geneva) to advocate for women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health (WCAH). PMNCH co-organized with IPU and WHO, a workshop on sexual and reproductive health and rights, intervened in 8 sessions of the Assembly, including during the general debate and met with 15 delegations. PMNCH’s efforts gave visibility to WCAH issues and surfaced opportunities for PMNCH to strengthen its engagements with key parliaments. ![]() Engage with PMNCHThis high-level dialogue is the second of a series of dialogues that bring together policymakers, healthcare leaders, donors and experts to discuss how countries can accelerate the implementation of the WHA77 resolution.
