Hi there,
If you can't find something in this months newsletter that floats your boat "I'll eat my hat” as my Mum would have said. We start with the magnificent new book by Fiona Basile and move through to our creatives work where you will see TVCs, photography and illustrations, plus styling, H&MU along with meeting new members. You’ll also read some testimonials about working with The Brownbill Effect and grab a sneak peak at my new book coming out in 2024. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thankyou to Eliza for working with The Brownbill Effect this year and to wish her well for the future with her Graphic Design endeavours. And introduce you to Pan Pan who will be working alongside me next year. Welcome Pan Pan, I look forward to exciting times working with you in 2024. It's been a roller coaster of a year. See you all next year, let's keep that ride going. Cheers, Sally
Fiona’s Book, Immerse, has been released in November 2023. Copies can be purchased directly from Fiona online, via her website or through a variety of bookshops across Melbourne. "My story and connection with the open water swimming community in Seaford, a bayside suburb of Melbourne, began during the 2020/2021 COVID pandemic. At the time, we were restricted to a 5km radius, and an hour of outdoor exercise. By June 2021, I decided I needed to ‘get out’ and do something for my heart and soul. So, at dawn, with camera in hand, I walked to Seaford
pier. There, I discovered a group of people swimming out to the pole. ‘They’re crazy! It’s the middle of winter!’, I thought. And while I was standing at the end of the pier, looking out toward the swimmers, a pod of dolphins swam by."

Tex Perkins at Prince Band Room
"Recently, I was lucky enough to shoot an intimate event for the Australian arm of the Young Presidents’ Organisation. This featured Tex Perkins (Dark Horses) and Tim Rogers (You Am I), hosted at the Prince Band Room, and followed by a Q&A session. This was quite possibly one of the more enjoyable shoots I’ve done to-date. You certainly know you’re in the right industry when you get paid to do something you’d happily do for free. Despite being outside the regular genre of photography I’d take on, it was without doubt, the most fun I’ve had on a shoot."

"This illustration was for an office supplies company. The figures were used as fillers between product photos and text in catalogues, website, and Facebook pages. It is rendered digitally in the Painter program with stylus and Wacom using pen and opaque colour brushes."

JULIAN DOLMAN | PHOTOGRAPHER
Over the past 20 years, I have become sought after as a photographer for actors and theatrical agents. I also now photograph a more broad spectrum of humans who are needing portraits and headshots including Authors and Corporate teams. My photography style is natural/relaxed and whether I am in the studio or out on location I am easygoing and work to be a good director and make the process of being photographed authentic and fun. On the side I enjoy capturing street and urbex photography and I am also currently in the early stages of a book about working dogs with Kelpie trainer Paul Macphail from Beloka Kelpies.
