Right brain hemisphere also important for learning a new language

 
 
 

Novel language learning activates different neural processes than was previously thought. A Leiden research team has discovered parallel but separate contributions from the hippocampus and Broca's area, the learning centre in the left hemisphere. The right hemisphere of the brain also seems to play an important role.

Leiden Wall Formulas in Nature

 
 
 

Nature published an article on the new wall formulas in the Leiden city center. On November 22nd, Leiden University celebrated the opening of three new wall formulas. A total of six formulas are now painted on walls across the historic center.

P.J. Veth building renovated - the new Humanities Campus takes shape!

 
 
 

The renovated P.J. Veth building is rather hidden away in the narrow Nonnensteeg, but, given its proximity to the Hortus Botanicus, it is clearly visible to visitors to the botanical garden, which is also where the new entrance is located.
