Strathfield eNews No images? Click here 30 June 2022Cr Matthew Blackmore, Mayor of Strathfield I had the pleasure this week of opening the first of three foot bridges over Powell's Creek. The foot bridges, when complete, will provide a fantastic pedestrian link for our residents to the George St, North Strathfield precinct. Our Citizenship Ceremony this week saw 68 new residents conferred from 15 different countries. A big thank you to the students from St Martha's Primary School who performed a lovely rendition of the Australian Anthem for our new residents. I have some good news in relation to my continued push for the removal of the redundant Optus cable network from our local streets, I will be meeting with Optus on the 6th July and will be requesting a timeline for the removal. The removal will benefit the visual amenity of our area and improve future tree pruning. I'm hoping to provide some positive news soon.
