Changes to Country of Origin Labelling

New mandatory rules for country of origin labelling for certain foods have been introduced under the Fair Trading Act 1986. These rules require single-ingredient fresh, thawed and frozen fruit, vegetable, fish, seafood, meat and cured pork products to have their country or ocean of origin identified. Food Importer Registration

On 1 July, New Zealand Food Safety implemented automatic screening of all imports of food, drinks, or ingredients for sale against the Food Importer registration. if you receive enquiries from food importers who need to register, direct them to Register as a Food Importer. Read more.

 

 

CPD Managers Dashboard

We have developed a dashboard under the Food Act 2014 to help managers and team leads monitor their verifiers’ progress in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme -  by showing which verifiers have met the CPD requirements in real-time. Read more.
