Vendmanager - Vending Simply Better. No Images? Click here May 2017 Issue Looking forward... It’s less than a month since I was reporting back from NAMA in Las Vegas. I was there to research the North American vending market, to understand what we can learn from other places to the benefit of our clients here in the UK. It worked. Things on that front have accelerated faster than I expected - so AVEX in September will be the right time to go public with some very exciting innovations to boost our British clients’ operations even further. Meanwhile, we have also been looking to see what we can learn from other sectors - how to bring in ideas from other industries, where they have already proven to be successful. That’s why for example, our newest recruit as Operations Manager is transferring in from outside vending altogether. He brings proven success from beyond our sector. Please meet Alex Briggs below.
But first and foremost in this edition, we would like to welcome on board CEMA Vending, the newest member of our Vendmanager family. We are all looking forward to working with MD Simon Leadley and his team to the benefit of their company, and CEMA’s own clients. CEMA Vending Joins Vendmanager CEMA Vending, based in Nottingham, have awarded the contract for their new vending management system to SB Software. Simon Leadley, MD, explained that in moving from what are currently manual, paper-based processes direct to Vendmanager, they are looking for a revolutionary transformation in customer service: “This goes beyond evolutionary improvements. It’s more than a step-change. Six months from now, I expect everything to be different, with easy access to current data driving dashboards and management reports that underpin visibility, control and informed decision making. Across the board, whether optimising stock, product or routes, the gains will be massive. With improved efficiency, our own people will benefit, alongside our company, and more importantly so will our clients and their end users.” Initial implementation is underway now. COMPANY NEWSNew Operations Manager at SBS: We’re Growing and Getting Better. Alex Briggs already on the job at Vendex - a month before joining SBS. Alex Briggs has joined SBS as Operations Manager. His new role became effective start of May, but some of you will already have met him back at Vendex at the beginning of April. Alex asked to be at Vendex to glean as much understanding of our clients and our sector as early as possible: “It was too good an opportunity to miss. I was still working out my notice with my previous employer, so I just explained the situation to them and they agreed I could take one of my outstanding days’ leave to attend. It’s like most things in business: once you are clear about what you want to achieve, you can find the right way to make it happen. But nothing comes to pass all on its own - why would it?”
Alex is already visiting client sites, and preparing new implementations. In his first month, Alex has already been out on the road visiting client sites, in between days in the office engaging deeply with the Vendmanager system, and preparing for the new implementations scheduled ahead. One of those will be CEMA - our newest client - and Alex is looking forward to re-visiting Nottingham: “I spent three years at Nottingham Law School completing my law degree, so it will be very satisfying to be putting the disciplines I acquired there into commercial practice in the same city where I learnt them. There’s also a pub or two that need re-visiting - once the working day is done.” If you are already a part of the Vendmanager family, expect to see Alex soon.
