Subscribe here! Opportunities and Resources2025 City of Logan Volunteer Awards Each year, over 7,000 volunteers showcase our community's strength. Since 1988, the Volunteer Awards have celebrated the exceptional contributions of individuals and organisations. Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond to support and uplift our community? Nominate them! Awards include Volunteer of the Year, recognising an individual's outstanding contribution, and Outstanding Community Organisation of the Year, honouring a not-for-profit organisation, group or program for their significant contribution to the community. 16 March 2025 ![]() 2025 Queensland Reconciliation Awards Nominations are now open for the 2025 Queensland Reconciliation Awards. This is a great chance to showcase local Logan programs that foster stronger social relations, improve health, and support employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Categories include Business, Community, Education, Health and Wellbeing, and Partnership. An overall Premier's Reconciliation Award will also be given for innovative strategies and exceptional outcomes in advancing reconciliation in Queensland. Nominations close: 5pm on Monday 10 March 2025 ![]() Disaster Legal Toolkit for NFPs Justice Connect’s Not-for-profit Law program has recently launched a Disaster Legal Toolkit to help not-for-profit organisations navigate legal issues during disasters. These free, easy-to-access resources cover everything from governance and worker safety to insurance and funding. Created by experienced lawyers, these plain language guides will help organisations prepare, respond, and recover, ensuring a safe and resilient community. ![]() Inclusion Garden Hub - networking session for community gardens The Inclusion Garden Hub is an exciting initiative from Nathan Freney, founder of Swallowtail Nursery and passionate advocate for people with disabilities! If you're a community garden or disability service ready to make a real impact, join this free online networking session and join the important conversation on how you can create more inclusive and welcoming spaces for all! When: Friday 28 March, 10am to 12noon ![]() Be a part of planning for Logan’s Olympic and Paralympic legacy! Logan City Council invites you to Striving for Gold: Logan’s 2032 Games Legacy Forum. The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games are once-in-a-lifetime events that offers the City of Logan an incredible opportunity to inspire and drive positive change. In May 2025 the forum will bring together community, business and government groups to shape a bold and impactful action plan that will benefit the City of Logan for generations to come. You are invited to express your interest to attend the forum. Share your big ideas, engage with inspiring guest speakers, and participate in workshop discussions. Places to attend are limited. This event strives to connect students and their families with valuable opportunities for those who are interested in pursuing careers in construction and trades. Come along for a free breakfast and explore all the different career pathways and opportunities. Eligible clients can book a free pet health check for their furry friend at the RSPCA Community Day in Loganlea. Services will include veterinary checks, vaccinations, microchipping, pet care essentials, grooming, and training advice. Bookings are for new clients only and to be eligible, you must hold an approved concession card and provide your CRN. Please ensure pets are on a lead or in a carrier and stay mindful of weather conditions. This fund is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program and distributes approximately $60 million each year to not-for-profit community groups. This funding supports these groups in delivering essential services, recreational activities, and opportunities to enhance the well-being of Queensland communities. Applications are now open for the $10,000 Community Health Literacy Grants offered by Brisbane South PHN. These grants are for projects that help people understand and use local health services better. Funding is available for initiatives that increase awareness of local healthcare services, build confidence in navigating the healthcare system, strengthen trust in healthcare providers, and engage with priority populations to design effective health literacy projects. Applications close: midday on Friday 28 February 2025 Applications are now open for Logan City Council’s EnviroGrants 2025 program. This program provides funding to individuals, community groups, businesses, and organisations to undertake initiatives that protect and enhance the natural environment and foster sustainability actions across the City of Logan. Funding amounts are available across five categories to support a wide range of initiatives. Applications close: Wednesday, 12 March 2025 Applications are now open for the Mercy Foundation’s Social Justice Small Grants Program. This program provides seed funding ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 to assist communities and organisations in building capacity for greater social justice in Australia. In this grant round, priority will be given to projects that focus on the inclusion of marginalised groups in the community. Only not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply.
