24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness Supporting Gotcha4Life
This weekend, over 2,000 surf club members and rowers Australia-wide will be taking part in the 2021 24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness supporting Gotcha4Life. There is still time to support this life changing event. Visit the 24 Hour Row website to find out more and donate. Radio Network Upgrade Improves Safety on Beaches
Surf lifesavers will have state-of-the-art communications systems able to respond sooner in an emergency when an upgrade to the radio network servicing the Hunter and Lower North Coast regions of NSW is complete.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Corrimal SLSC, Illawarra Branch and Surf Life Saving NSW Life Member, Ron Bradley OAM, who passed away on Tuesday 19 October.
Teens Think Quick in Surf Accident
An incredible exhibition of composure and bravery in difficult circumstances has seen a potentially awful accident become a shining example of Nipper education after a young Newport SLSC member was rescued during a club training session.
Racing NSW - Golden Eagle
SLSNSW has been selected as the charity partner for one of the runners in this year’s Golden Eagle, Maximal (GB), trained by John O’Shea. The Golden Eagle takes flight at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Australia’s third richest race brings together the best four-year-olds in the country and a portion of the prizemoney is being donated to the winner’s charity of choice. Good luck Maximal and thanks for supporting our volunteers to save lives on our beaches!

CPR Push-a-thon
Join in the CPR Push-a-thon, between now and November 19. Form a team, sign up, get sponsored and start pushing! Each push raises funds for Heart of the Nation and Restart a Heart Day. How long can your team push for?
There are incredible prizes for the top fundraisers, including an AED (valued at $2695), CPR Training Course for 12 people (valued at $1200) provided by SLSNSW, and discount accommodation vouchers at luxury hotels.
Notice of the Election Meeting of State Council
The SLSNSW State Election Voting Period will commence on Friday, 29 October 2021 at 9:00am and close on Friday, 12 November 2021 at 5:00pm. This is undertaken by each respective Branch council. The Surf Life Saving NSW 2021 State Election Meeting of State Council will be held on Saturday, 13 November 2021.
NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program
The Office of Sport is yet to release the timing of the funding program, however we anticipate the closing date to be well before the Christmas period. We therefore recommend you commence gathering the required attachments, discuss your project with Council and make contact with the Grant Seeking Unit to ensure you are ready to lodge an application within the advertised timeframes.
SLSA Planned System Upgrade – Full Outage
On Tuesday, 2 November 2021 a major IT System upgrade will be occurring. The National ICT Unit will be migrating all systems to a new Cloud Service Provider. All SLSA Online systems will be down from Tue, 2 November 2021 at 8.00pm AEDST to Wed, 3 November 2021 at 6.00am AEDST. If you have any questions about the outage please contact the IT Helpdesk.
Life Education Online with Healthy Harold
SLSNSW members are being offered free access to Life Education Online with Healthy Harold. Life Education's 10 on-demand online modules are designed for children aged 5-12 and provide valuable lessons exploring healthy eating, personal safety, physical activity, positive and safe relationships, cybersafety and more. Applications are now open for participants and leadership team members for the 2022 Lifesaving Development Camp.
Bate Bay Gold
Entries are now open for the 2021 Bate Bay Gold. The short course endurance event will be held at Wanda SLSC on Saturday, 20 November.

Expressions of interest are now open for members wishing to be a facilitator for the JLOTY and YOM programs.

Interested in joining us as a virtual presenter for our 2021 Beach to Bush program? We are urgently recruiting extra people to help educate our regional and remote school communities before they hit the coast this summer. All training and support is provided. 2021 Bate Bay Gold
Entries are now open with prize money on offer to the top five place getters in the Elite Male and Elite Female categories only. Entries close via SEMS Sunday, 14 November. SLSNSW are also calling for nominations for Officials, including Referee.
Tomorrow Man - The Palms Blokes Night, Pacific Palms SLSC
Fri 19 Nov, 6:30pm - This Tomorrow Man workshop is a community supported event to increase mental health awareness and explore how we can look after ourselves, our mates and our families better.
SLSSNB Metro Beach Series
Round 1 of the Metro Beach Series will be held at North Narrabeen Beach on 13 November. Entries are via SEMS and close 7 November. Visit the SLSSNB website for the Carnival Program and more information.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
