24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness Supporting Gotcha4Life

This weekend, over 2,000 surf club members and rowers Australia-wide will be taking part in the 2021 24 Hour Row for Mental Fitness supporting Gotcha4Life. Racing NSW - Golden Eagle

SLSNSW has been selected as the charity partner for one of the runners in this year’s Golden Eagle, Maximal (GB), trained by John O’Shea. The Golden Eagle takes flight at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Australia’s third richest race brings together the best four-year-olds in the country and a portion of the prizemoney is being donated to the winner’s charity of choice. Good luck Maximal and thanks for supporting our volunteers to save lives on our beaches!

CPR Push-a-thon

Join in the CPR Push-a-thon, between now and November 19. Form a team, sign up, get sponsored and start pushing! Each push raises funds for Heart of the Nation and Restart a Heart Day. How long can your team push for?

There are incredible prizes for the top fundraisers, including an AED (valued at $2695), CPR Training Course for 12 people (valued at $1200) provided by SLSNSW, and discount accommodation vouchers at luxury hotels.

Notice of the Election Meeting of State Council

The SLSNSW State Election Voting Period will commence on Friday, 29 October 2021 at 9:00am and close on Friday, 12 November 2021 at 5:00pm. This is undertaken by each respective Branch council. The Surf Life Saving NSW 2021 State Election Meeting of State Council will be held on Saturday, 13 November 2021.

NSW Office of Sport Surf Club Facility Program

The Office of Sport is yet to release the timing of the funding program, however we anticipate the closing date to be well before the Christmas period. We therefore recommend you commence gathering the required attachments, discuss your project with Council and make contact with the Grant Seeking Unit to ensure you are ready to lodge an application within the advertised timeframes.

SLSA Planned System Upgrade – Full Outage

On Tuesday, 2 November 2021 a major IT System upgrade will be occurring. The National ICT Unit will be migrating all systems to a new Cloud Service Provider.  All SLSA Online systems will be down from Tue, 2 November 2021 at 8.00pm AEDST to Wed, 3 November 2021 at 6.00am AEDST. If you have any questions about the outage please contact the IT Helpdesk.

Life Education Online with Healthy Harold

SLSNSW members are being offered free access to Life Education Online with Healthy Harold. Life Education's 10 on-demand online modules are designed for children aged 5-12 and provide valuable lessons exploring healthy eating, personal safety, physical activity, positive and safe relationships, cybersafety and more. Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
