Cr John-Paul Baladi, Mayor of Strathfield

Dear Residents,

A big thank you to those who joined Council for this year's National Tree Day event on Sunday at Bressington Park. It is always wonderful to see members of our community rolling up their sleeves to take part in a national nature care event.

Homelessness Week takes place 4 - 10 August 2025 so Council is once again putting a call out to our community to participate in our annual homelessness food appeal. Collection points have been set up at Strathfield Council's Customer Service Centre and at Strathfield Council Library & Innovation Hub until Tuesday 12 August 2025.

Preferred items include: cereal, long life full cream milk, rice, tins of corn beef and tuna, dry noodles, biscuits and tinned vegetables. All donations will be given to Council's charity partners, St Paul’s Church and St Merkorious Charity.

As always, if you have a local concern or idea you’d like to share, you can reach me on 0478 054 241 or at cr.jpbaladi@strathfield.nsw.gov.au.

New art exhibition Verdure - luminous beings: Liam Benson is now open! ✨

Liam Benson is a multi-disciplinary socially engaged artist based on Dharug Land, Western Sydney, New South Wales. Incorporating performance, photography, video and textiles, his practice reflects on the exchange within identity and culture as a living dualistic process which is both informed by and challenges historical, political, and social consciousness.

Liam Benson’s works are held in significant public and private collections including The Art Gallery of NSW, The MCA Australia, and the Art Gallery of South Australia, so we are thrilled that we get to feature his amazing artworks right here in Strathfield!

📅 until 29 September 2025
