Centre News

Welcome to our first newsletter for 2020!

It has been a busy and challenging start to the year for many of you, and the young people you serve, keeping everyone safe and well amidst bushfires, dust storms, and smoke.

We appreciate the time all of you have taken over January to connect with us as part of the Client Mix and Match interviews and beyond to ensure we keep working together to improve outcomes for young people across the ITC system.

We are excited to kick-off 2020 with upcoming training for Therapeutic Specialists, introductions to our new Centre staff, and recently published research and practice resources to support the incredible work you are doing to lift up young people across the state.

I also want to take this opportunity to welcome our colleagues from Westhaven and Wesley Mission, who have recently joined as ITC-SD providers in Orange and Metropolitan Sydney hubs.

We're looking forward to continuing to learn and collaborate together this year.

Director

NEW TEAM MEMBERS

Dr. Glenys Bristow                        Senior Advisor

"Hello everyone! I'm really looking forward to working with you and the Centre this year to help develop our collective understanding around what it takes to improve outcomes for young people in ITC. I've worked in residential care for 30+ years, and have just completed my PhD into the world and artistry of residential workers. I'm looking forward to learning with you."

Dr. Kelly Royds                              Senior Advisor: Policy & Practice

"Hi all, I've really loved getting out and meeting as many of you as possible in my first month here at the Centre.  I've already learnt a lot from your insights around the Client Mix and Match process, and I'm excited to see how this year unfolds as we work and learn together. My work and research for the past decade has looked at how to improve outcomes for young people by centring their voices and experiences."
