Doctors of BC Health Authority Engagement Survey Launches September 12This Fall, Doctors of BC is seeking feedback from its membership regarding their engagements and interactions with their health authority. Now in its seventh year, the Health Authority Engagement Survey plays a crucial part in helping Doctors of BC advocate for members, and support doctors across the province. In the coming days, members will receive more information on the survey from Doctors of BC via email and website articles. Email invitations will be sent out on September 12. Doctors of BC encourages MSA support teams and executives to share this information with their respective groups to ensure our members have the chance to share their thoughts on this important area. By sharing their feedback, members can help Doctors of BC shape programs and policies that reflects their needs. Visit this webpage to access last year’s Survey Report. If you have any questions, please email surveys@doctorsofbc.ca Upcoming Member Engagement: Doctors of BC’s Policy on Gender Equity in MedicineDoctors of BC will soon be seeking member feedback in phase two of our member engagement on the topic of gender equity in medicine. Member input gathered in phase one has been used by Doctors of BC’s Council on Health Economics and Policy (CHEP) to develop a draft policy statement, with commitments and recommendations specific to the BC context. From September 15th – 29th, share your thoughts and join the conversation on our Have your Say online community engagement platform. If you have any questions, please email policyandplanning@doctorsofbc.ca. Watch for further communications from Doctors of BC next week when the engagement goes live. SEAT Database: Removal of Password ProtectionAs of October 31, 2022, due to popular request to increase accessibility, password protection on the SEAT database will be removed. Users will no longer need to log in to SEAT to view the information. The data will be public-facing (accessible to anyone on the Internet), and posted on the Facility Engagement website’s upcoming knowledge sharing portal. Action: Please review your SEAT-designated engagement activities in FEMS before the next October 15th SEAT submission deadline to ensure entries are accurate and appropriate for sharing on the public-facing FE website. Adjust as you see fit or if you do not wish to have activities shown in the public-facing database, move the SEAT toggle to NO (in FEMS).
Based on stakeholder feedback, FE continues to improve the SEAT Database including simplified keyword searches, searches by multiple MSAs, downloadable search results in CSV (with further sorting /filtering via Excel), a provincial source for curated knowledge sharing, and now, password removal.
