Robin and Laura of South Pacific Pocket Guide will spend two weeks in-country researching and creating a comprehensive online travel guide for the Cook Islands. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Cook Islands Tourism would like to feature Tour and Activity operators in our Visitor Information Centre. Lets give our visitors a visual experience of what you have to offer! MASTERCARD TOURISM INSIGHTS PLATFORM South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) have engaged with Mastercard Advisors to provide data on Pacific Island Tourism; pre, during and potentially post COVID-19. The focus is the enhancement of Tourism in the Pacific and aimed at exploring solutions for data insights and strategic support relating to selected member countries, including the Cook Islands. Through this collaboration, the Cook Islands will have access to Mastercard Tourism Insights Platform which provides a 360 view of tourism insights, using anonymized and aggregated Mastercard transactions – paired with flight search, price, hotel booking, and behavioral data. This week the Cook Islands began onboarding via online training sessions to see how best to incorporate this data into current strategic planning. TRAINING FOR AGENCIES HOSTED BY JULIA HAYES VISITING NZ PARLIAMENTARY COUNCIL The Solicitor-General’s Legislative Drafting Directives 2012 clearly set out for Agencies and Ministries the pathway to legislative change. This starts with clearly articulating a policy that describes the desired change in law. Next, clear instructions are needed to inform the drafter of the laws. The Destination Development team attended this training to equip our team for the work ahead as we look to review the Cook Islands Tourism and Marketing Corporation Act of 2007. SELF-ISOLATION BOOKLET When anyone who tests positive for COVID-19, they are required to self-isolate immediately. The Public Health Clinic closest to the case will be issued an Isolation pack which includes medical devices (pulse oximeter and digital thermometer), masks, a supply of paracetamol and an isolation booklet. The booklet will serve as the instruction manual on how to use the medical devices and, a diary to track and record symptoms such as oxygen levels and body temperature. A Public Health Nurse will be available to assist cases who are in self-isolation. Travel Checklist for Group 1: Visitors (Tourist)There are requirements that every visitor must comply with to enter the Cook Islands. Failure to comply may result in travellers being denied boarding at the airport. Please send the below link to all of your guests when they book with you.
