Click here Feeling Right as RainWinter storms brought rain, sleet, hail, and even snow to the Bay Area, but we're looking forward to everything else it will bring—green hills, flowing waterfalls, and lots and lots of wildflowers! That's great news for those looking to get some colorful shots for your Instagram, or for those trying to get in some Ridge to Bridge training hikes before the big event on April 29th! Whatever your fancy, this spring is shaping up to be one for the books, and we hope "explore the Ridge Trail" will be at the top of your to-do list. Know Before You Go All these storms are taking a toll on the trails, and many parks and open spaces are closing for repairs. Before you head out the door, check with the land manager to make sure the trails are open and safe to visit. You can find the park partner for the Ridge Trail section you want to visit in our Planning Navigator Tool. Note: Mt. Sutro has closed part of the RT due to storm damage. Find more info and a detour map here. Lend Some People-Power Ridge to Bridge 2023—our biggest adventure & fundraiser of the year—is coming up on April 29! It's selling out FAST, so grab your tickets OR consider being a volunteer. We're in search of awesome people (like you!) to give our participants an amazing experience that will keep them coming back for more! We need outing leaders & sweeps and rest stop & check in helpers along the trail. Among these inspiring women is Doris Klein, whose life will be honored with the naming of a trail in the soon-to-be-open Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park near Fairfield. We also want to honor the Native American women who were the first stewards of the land the Ridge Trail travels through, and who continue to steward these lands today. Celebrate Women's History Month by learning more about Native American Women and the organizations they lead, like Sogorea Te' Land Trust, a Bay Area-based, urban Indigenous women-led land trust that facilitates the return of Indigenous land to Indigenous people.
