Four reward ideas you've probably never tried
(but should!)
Four innovative ways to celebrate your customers + how to set them up in My.Extole
1. Run a "Customer Appreciation Program"
Send select customers a reward as a "thank you"—no referral or purchase necessary. This new program type is ideal for recognizing VIP customers, thanking users after a support interaction, or sending holiday gifts to brand ambassadors.
- Create a new program with the "Customer Appreciation" template
- Attach a reward such as a gift card or coupon
- Publish the campaign
- Send rewards individually at-will using a customer's email address, or upload a CSV for a batch send
- Confim each issued reward on the customer's profile
2. Set up bonus rewards for referral milestones
Trigger a bonus one-time reward when advocates reach specific milestones, such as on the 2nd, 3rd, or 5th successful referral. Bonuses encourage repeat referral behavior and strengthen your relationship with top advocates.
- Open an existing referral campaign in Flow Builder
- Create a new template journey on the advocate side
- Add a new advocate event that fires each time a friend converts
- Create a new advocate reward for each milestone you want to reward
- Create a reward rule that is fulfilled when the event is completed X times
- The bonus reward will be triggered when an advocate reaches a milestone
3. Banks and CUs—Nudge deposits with a targeted offer
Use a targeted welcome offer to reactivate new accounts that remain unfunded after a set time period. What this might look like: After 60 days, customers who have not made an initial deposit are offered a $60 reward (higher than the initial welcome offer) for funding their checking account.
- Define audience criteria, e.g. account opened >60 days ago, no initial deposit made
- Send a daily eligibility feed with customers who meet these requirements
- Create a distinct offer journey separate from other welcome offers
- Set deposit requirements—amount, completion window, funding methods
- Set up a new reward to trigger when an account meets these requirements
- Trigger communications to send at the 60-day eligibility event, with periodic reminders until the account is funded or closed
If you'd prefer a program idea that aligns more with your unique audience, growth goals, and past performance, the MCP is your best resource. The server has permissioned access to your My.Extole account and can provide data-backed suggestions on anything from reward value to seasonal creative changes.
- Connect to the Extole MCP via your chosen AI workspace, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Codex (detailed instructions linked below)
- Once connected and authorized, start a new chat in your workspace with the Extole connector enabled
- Ask the MCP to help you ideate—e.g., "Help me design a program to re-engage employee advocates who haven't referred in a while," or "what reward type do customers in my industry respond best to?"
- Use the MCP to help you build or edit the campaign, or reach out to your CSM for additional guidance

Integrations report: What's new and improving
Announcing our newest integration solution, plus a quick look at what we're doing to deepen integrations with existing partners.
By integrating MANTL with Extole, financial institutions can automatically track, attribute, verify, and reward prospects and members when they open an account for a more seamless and automated reward process. See documentation below for instructions.
- Expanded Hubspot + Salesforce capabilities. Customers will be
able to use Hubspot and SFDC events within Extole programs and send Extole data back to their CRM to power downstream workflows, reporting, and segmentation
- Deeper Q2 integration. Extole will soon be able to ingest data
from the core through Q2 to automatically determine when banking customers have completed qualifying actions to earn a reward
- New Stripe integration. Once launched, customers can use key
billing events from Stripe to support automated, lifecycle-based rewards in Extole, fulfilled as Stripe credits or promo codes

Extole in the wild: Conference recaps
Navigating the future of AI @ Fintech DevCon
Fintech DevCon brought together developers, product leaders, and fintech innovators to explore the future of APIs, AI, and financial technology. A major theme was the push for better developer experiences and more seamless integrations, even as teams continue working through challenges with legacy systems and AI reliability. Extole’s own developer experience closely reflects where the industry is headed, with
strong documentation, API resources, and emerging MCP capabilities.

Connecting with the best of ecommerce @ eTail Boston
Extole returned to eTail Boston this August as a sponsor and exhibitor, joining leading retail and ecommerce brands for three days of conversations around customer experience, loyalty, AI, and omnichannel growth. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with the retail community, meet new faces, and exchange ideas about how brands can leverage authentic customer relationships to foster meaningful growth in an era of
automation.
